Nguyen Truong To Scholarship for Gifted Students in the Diocese of Vinh.

The Nguyen Truong To Scholarship Fund for Gifted Students in the Diocese of Vinh is a philanthropic initiative dedicated to supporting outstanding Catholic students from the Dioceses of Vinh and Ha Tinh who are pursuing higher education at prestigious universities across Vietnam and around the world.

Introduction

On June 6, 2015, with the pastoral blessing of Bishop Paul Nguyen Thai Hop, Father JB Nguyen Kim Dong established the Nguyen Truong To Scholarship Fund for Gifted Students in the Diocese of Vinh. The initiative was founded to celebrate and cultivate the deep-rooted spirit of academic curiosity native to the people of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, and Quang Binh provinces, while actively encouraging, motivating, and empowering the young talents of the region.

The Dioceses of Vinh and Ha Tinh span these three provinces – a resilient land characterized by harsh weather and frequent natural disasters, yet deeply enriched by a profound tradition of lifelong learning that continually produces passionate, brilliant young minds for the nation. Recognizing that local students consistently strive to overcome financial hardships in pursuit of excellence, Father JB Nguyen Kim Dong envisioned this fund as a vital source of support to fuel their journey forward.

The Fund operates as a voluntary organization comprising dedicated parishioners who are deeply committed to the noble cause of education and human development, striving together to nurture a generation of exceptional intellectuals for both their homeland and the country.

Purpose

To inspire and empower high-achieving Catholic students from the region who are enrolled at prestigious universities in Vietnam. Above all, the Fund aims to cultivate a strong, visionary community of Catholic intellectuals dedicated to serving the Diocese and society.

  • Official scholarship: 10,000,000 VND (10 million VND).
  • Consolation scholarship: 2,000,000 VND (two million VND).
