Calling for applications for the Nguyen Truong To Scholarship for Gifted Students in the Diocese of Vinh
Dear students and all those devoted to education,
Nghe – Tinh – Binh is a land with a centuries-old tradition of studiousness. Although many charitable organizations have been established to assist disadvantaged yet studious students, this tradition requires further promotion and encouragement. Therefore, the Nguyen Truong To Scholarship Fund for Gifted Students in the Diocese of Vinh was established. The purpose of this Fund is to encourage and support students who achieve excellent or outstanding academic performance at prestigious universities in Vietnam and abroad, while aiming to foster a generation of Catholic intellectuals for the Dioceses of Vinh and Ha Tinh.
In that spirit, the Fund’s Executive Board would like to announce the call for applications for the Nguyen Truong To Scholarship for Gifted Students in the Diocese of Vinh for the 2024-2025 academic year as follows:
1. Scholarship Allocation
The Fund plans to award approximately 50 official scholarships, each worth 10,000,000 VND (10 million VND), and a number of consolation scholarships, each worth 2,000,000 VND (2 million VND).
2. Eligibility and Selection Criteria
– Catholic students belonging to the Diocese of Vinh and the Diocese of Ha Tinh, currently studying at key universities in Vietnam (See the attached list of universities). Note: First-year students are not yet eligible to apply as the evaluation board requires a full academic year’s transcript.
– Final academic grades for the 2024-2025 academic year must be classified as excellent or outstanding.
– Priority will be given to those with special achievements, awards, or prominent participation in meaningful religious and social activities.
3. Application Documents
– A scanned copy of the final transcript for the 2024-2025 academic year (with the official stamp of the University or Faculty), with the following important note: Transcripts usually have two grading scales (a 4-point scale and a 10-point scale); the evaluation board will only consider the grading scale officially used by your university for academic scholarships and graduation consideration as valid (the evaluation board will verify this specific detail with each university).
– Nguyen Truong To Scholarship for Gifted Students in the Diocese of Vinh application form.
– Scanned copies of certificates for outstanding achievements, awards, and social activities.
– A clear portrait photo.
4. Timeline
– Online application submission: From December 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025
– Evaluation & Selection: From January 1, 2026, to January 24, 2026
– Results announcement: On the website https://hbnguyentruongto.com, on January 25, 2026

6. Important Notes
– Deadlines and Validity: The Selection Committee will close the online application portal after December 31, 2025. Late submissions or invalid applications (e.g., missing application forms or transcripts without an official institutional stamp) will not be considered.
– Submission Confirmation: Applicants will receive a confirmation email within one week of submitting their online application. If you do not receive this confirmation within that timeframe, please follow up via the contact email provided above.
